Right of way depends on the whole situation.
Intersection timing, turning direction, signs, signals, and immediate hazards can all matter. Read each condition before deciding who must yield.
A better way to reason through a scenario
- Identify the traffic control first: signal, stop sign, yield sign, or none.
- Notice whether vehicles arrive at approximately the same time or are turning.
- Keep statutory conditions such as an immediate hazard with the rule they qualify.
